Terms of Use

These terms govern your use of the KidsTube app published by Groei B.V. By downloading or using the app you agree to them. If you let a child use the app, you confirm you are their parent or legal guardian and accept these terms on their behalf.

1. What KidsTube is

KidsTube is a parental-control front end for YouTube content. Parents approve channels, set age and keyword filters, and set screen-time limits; children watch only what passes those controls. KidsTube is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Google LLC or YouTube.

2. YouTube content and API services

All videos are hosted, served and owned by YouTube and its content creators. KidsTube uses YouTube API Services to find content and the official YouTube embedded player to play it. Your use of the app is therefore also subject to the YouTube Terms of Service, and the Google Privacy Policy applies to data processed by Google.

3. A filter, not a guarantee

KidsTube’s filters (age inference, keyword blocklists, channel allowlists) are automated safeguards applied to third-party content that changes constantly. No filter is perfect. We do not guarantee that every video that passes the filters is appropriate for your child, and we are not responsible for the content of YouTube videos. The app is a tool to assist parental supervision, not a replacement for it.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to: circumvent the parental controls of a device you do not manage; use the app to violate YouTube’s Terms of Service; reverse engineer the app except where the law permits; or use the app where prohibited by law.

5. Free trial, subscriptions and purchases

• Free trial. Every new installation includes a 3-day trial with full functionality, starting the first time the app is opened on a device. The trial does not renew and does not require payment details.
• Plans. After the trial, continued use requires an auto-renewable subscription: monthly ($5.99/month), quarterly ($14.99 every three months), or yearly ($59.99/year). Prices in other currencies follow Apple’s price tiers and are shown in the app before purchase.
• Billing. Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period; manage or cancel them in your device’s subscription settings. Purchases are made through Apple, and Apple’s media services terms also apply; refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
• Parental gate. All purchase screens sit behind the parent PIN.
• Restore. Use “Restore Purchases” on the paywall to recover purchases on a new or reset device signed into the same Apple Account.

6. Screen-time features

Daily limits, session limits and allowed hours are best-effort features that depend on the device clock and the app staying in the foreground. They may be affected by changing the device time or force-quitting the app.

7. Disclaimer and liability

The app is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Groei B.V. is not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from use of the app, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the app in the twelve months before the claim arose. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including under EU consumer-protection rules.

8. Changes

We may update the app and these terms. Material changes will be announced in the App Store release notes; continued use after a change means acceptance.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands, without affecting mandatory consumer protections of your country of residence.
